What should I do to train this summer?
Follow the Summer Training Plan, in the link above. The focus of your summer training should be building a big aerobic base, which means plenty of miles in the good outdoors. When you're in good shape, you'll also be adding some hill workouts and some faster workouts. Do not do anything crazy like speed workouts on the track, landing a 720 at the Skate Park, or smoking crack.
Come to the Trail Runners workouts on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 6 p.m., starting on June 5th. You'll get a good mix of workouts and meet some new runners!
This week's inspiring quotation
Mental will is a muscle that needs exercise, just like the muscles of the body.
--Lynn Jennings, marathoner
